Navy Awards HII $9.47 Billion In Four-Ship Amphib Buy

The Navy awarded HII’s [HII] Ingalls Shipbuilding Division $9.47 billion in two contracts for the multi-ship procurement of three Flight II San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ships (LPDs) and one America-class amphibious assault ships (LHAs). Naval Sea Systems Command confirmed in a statement released with the contract that the multi-ship buy strategy expects to save over $901 million from fiscal years 2024 through 2029 compared to using annual contracts.
