Navy Awards Electric Boat $1.3 Billion To Work On Virginia-Class Sub Material

The Navy on Monday awarded General Dynamics' Electric Boat [GD] a $1.3 billion undefinitized contract modification for economic ordering quantity material in support of planned Block IV Virginia-class attack submarines (SSN). The announcement said this also aims to be “in furtherance of the Navy’s commitment to the health and stability of the industrial base.” Work is expected to occur in various locations throughout the U.S. and be completed by September 2035.
