NASA Selects Space Launch System Advanced Booster Proposals

NASA has selected six proposals from four companies for the technology development phase of its Space Launch System (SLS) advanced booster, with plans to eventually open it to a full competition in 2015, a spokeswoman said. The agency said the following companies and their proposals have been selected for contract negotiations: Northrop Grumman [NOC] and its “Subscale Composite Tank Set”; Aerojet, a GenCorp Inc. [GY] company, and its “Full-Scale Combustion Stability Demonstration”; ATK [ATK] and its “Integrated Booster Static Test”…
