Lockheed Martin Corp. [LMT] gained $37.3 million in a trade secrets lawsuit against L-3 Communications Corp. [LLL] and its unit L-3 Communications Integrated Systems Inc.
That suit was aired in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, where a jury decided in favor of Lockheed.
The dispute centered on a Lockheed anti-submarine aircraft, the P-3, where the largest defense contractor alleged L-3 used proprietary information to refurbish South Korean P-3 aircraft. L-3 acted as a subcontractor to Korean Aerospace Industries. Lockheed had competed for the contract.
