Lawmakers Seek Insight Into DoD Cyber Effort

Lawmakers are calling on the Pentagon to report in the near future on a nascent cybersecurity program with the defense industry to assess how to better defend government and critical infrastructure networks. The fiscal year 2012 defense authorization law--which President Barack Obama signed Dec. 31, 2011--requires the defense secretary to report to Congress by March 1 on the Defense Industrial Base Cyber Pilot program launched last June.
