L-3 Communications [LLL] says that The Singapore FreePort Pte Ltd. is deploying a range of L-3’s screening solutions to screen people, mail, parcels and freight at its 25,000 square-meter free trade zone facility located at the Changi International Airport in Singapore. The free trade zone facility offers secure storage and trade of fine art, jewelry, precious metals and other high-end valuables. L-3 is providing its ProVision advanced imaging technology for people screenings, its dual- energy PX 6.4 X-Ray system for screening hand-carried items, the PX-160P X-Ray system for screening skids and large packages, and the high-energy CX-Pallet system to provide dual- view imaging of large pallets. “The ability to scan full-size inbound and outbound pallets without having to unpack them was a key requirement,” says Thomas Ripp, president of L-3 Security & Detection Systems. “Our CX-Pallet is the only imaging system in the region capable of providing a seamless and cost-effective solution that addresses this significant challenge.” The value of L-3’s deal with Singapore FreePort wasn’t disclosed.
