Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HII called it a strategic deal that positions it “for expanded growth within the Department of Energy, environmental management, and commercial nuclear services markets.”

HII currently has a small amount of business with the Energy Department and this acquisition is a “natural extension of our nuclear work,” a company spokeswoman told Defense Daily.

Stoller is based in Colorado and has 650 employees. The company will operate under HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division, which designs and manufactures nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and nuclear-powered submarines.

Stoller provides of full range of services in support of environmental issues, including remediation projects to evaluations of local groundwater quality prior to commercial construction.
