Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Wednesday the Pentagon has found another $5 billion in savings from cutting more consulting contracts, while also approving a memo reiterating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team working with the department should have input on nearly “all unclassified contracts.” Hegseth has also signed new memos directing a broader review of advisory deals and reducing the size of the department’s weapons testing oversight office. “Part of what we’ve uncovered is that the Defense Department has…
