The chairman of the House subcommittee that oversees seapower said Wednesday he’s opposed to the Navy’s initiative to temporarily sideline 11 Ticonderoga-class (CG-47) cruisers, questioning whether the service would be able to follow through on plans to later reintroduce them to the fleet. “I’m going to fight to hold those cruisers because I think they are vitally important to the Navy and I think the Navy feels they’re important right now,” Rep.
