General Dynamics NASSCO To Build LNG Carrier For American Petroleum Tankers

General Dynamics’s [GD] wholly owned subsidiary NASSCO, said Monday it contracted with  has entered into a contract with an affiliate of American Petroleum Tankers (APT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. [KMP] for the design and construction of an additional 50,000 deadweight ton LNG-conversion-ready product carrier with a 330,000 barrel cargo capacity. KMP acquired APT and State Class Tankers for $960 million in cash in January of 2014. At that time, KMP purchased five operating vessels…
