General Dynamics [GD] yesterday said it has completed its purchase of cyber security firm Fidelis Security Systems, Inc., boosting its capabilities in detecting and preventing advanced persistent threats.
Terms of the deal, which was first announced last week, were not disclosed (Defense Daily, Aug. 21).
“We are now better positioned to help our enterprise and government customers combat advanced threats and protect their networks through real-time situational awareness,” Lou Von Thaer, president of GD Advanced Information Systems (AIS), said in a statement about the acquisition.
Fidelis, which is now part of GD AIS, provides a deep session inspection software platform that sits in a customer’s computer network and monitors applications and content, giving users visibility on threats as they enter a network and attempt to leave a network with stolen data.
