GD Acquires Precision Manufacturer Of Munitions Components

General Dynamics [GD] yesterday said it has acquired the defense operations of Gayston Corp., a small company with precision manufacturing capabilities for munitions programs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although GD said it expects the cash transaction to be accretive to earnings in 2013. Gayston’s defense business has 187 employees at its facility in Ohio. Gayston makes rocket motor tubes for the Army’s Hydra-70 air-to-ground rocket program and also provides liners and cartridges for 40mm ammunition rounds and…
