General Dynamics [GD] yesterday said it has completed its acquisition of secure wireless network equipment maker Fortress Technologies, giving it wireless local area networking capabilities for tactical battlefield applications.

Terms of the deal, which was announced last month, were not disclosed (Defense Daily, June 15). GD expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings in 2012.

“The acquisition of Fortress accelerates our ability to deliver a wider array of secure, Wi-Fi-based tactical wireless communication systems for military and government users worldwide,” Chris Marzilli, president of GD C4 Systems, said in a statement.
