The State Department has awarded General Dynamics [GD] a contract initially worth $22 million to provide supply chain management services to the agency and its embassies and other facilities worldwide, the company said yesterday.
The five-year contract could reach a total value of $2.2 billion if all options are exercised, General Dynamics said.
The contract tasks General Dynamics with delivering a full-range global supply chain management solution, including the technology infrastructure needed to integrate and manage the real-time flow of security equipment and related information.
The program is designed to ensure the State Department has current and accurate information about equipment status, lead-time and shipment-tracking information, General Dynamics said.
