General Dynamics [GD] in February acquired a small developer and supplier of broadband power amplifiers used in tactical communications systems for $65 million in cash, the company disclosed earlier this month in its first quarter earnings filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Integrated Defense Systems, Inc. (IDSI), which has 90 employees and is based in Pennsylvania, produces advanced filtering technologies and broadband power amplifiers used in software defined radios and counter-improvised explosive device technologies.
