FLIR Systems [FLIR] on recently said it has acquired Spain’s Ifara Tecnologias, a developer and supplier of middleware and client application software used to network sensor systems, for $11.1 million in cash.
FLIR, which has been partnering with Ifara for several years, said the company’s technology will help its customers seamlessly integrate a wide variety of sensors for any project.
Earl Lewis, FLIR’s chairman and CEO, said “bringing [Ifara] in-house will accelerate the adoption of Ifara’s complementary technology and help drive growth in key FLIR market segments.”
Ifara’s middleware sensor platform is called Nexus, which can accommodate thermal and CCTV cameras, fence and ground sensors, alarm contacts, unmanned aerial vehicles and radars.
