The first two F-35A Joint Strike Fighters arrived at Hill AFB, Utah, on Sept. 2, making it the 10th installation to formally host the jet.The two conventional takeoff and landing versions of the F-35 landed around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday after a two-hour flight from the Lockheed Martin [LMT] production facility in Fort Worth, Texas.Hill was selected in 2013 to host the service’s first combat F-35 squadron and has since spent $120 million in preparation for the aircraft’s arrival.
