F-35 Faces More Scrutiny As Cracks Found During Fatigue Tests

By Marina Malenic Engineers have discovered cracks on the bulkhead of an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter test airframe undergoing durability testing just as the troubled program is poised to undergo a major Pentagon acquisition review. Prime contractor Lockheed Martin [LMT] issued a statement saying that its engineers found the cracks on the short take-off/vertical landing B-model of the aircraft being built for the Marine Corps.
