Driscoll: Army Transformation Plan May Save $48 Billion Over Five Years For Reinvestment

The Army estimates its new transformation plan could save $48 billion over the next five years that it would reinvest in higher priority areas, according to the service’s civilian leader. “We are focused on every single dollar. I think we’ve unlocked $48 billion in savings in the next five years to recycle [into] the warfare of the future,” Army Secretary Dan Driscoll told a group of reporters during a visit Monday to Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.
