DoD Seeks To Shift Funds For Vehicles, Missiles

The Pentagon sent Congress a proposal last Friday afternoon to shift around $8 billion in funding already in its coffers to cover unforeseen costs including the procurement and enhancement of military vehicles. The 82-page omnibus reprogramming request seeks to move monies between defense accounts already approved by Congress for fiscal year 2012, which ends Sept. 30, and previous fiscal years dating back to FY ’07.
