The Defense Information Systems Agency last week cancelled a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued in April seeking upward of $475 million in support services for U.S. Cyber Command and the Cyber National Mission Force, saying the acquisition strategy is being reassessed.iStock Cyber Lock

“The Government has determined it is necessary to reassess the needs of USCYBERCOM and to consider whether another acquisition strategy could better meet those needs,” DISA said in a May 21 post on the FedBizOpps.gov site.

The RFP in April for the Omnibus Contract said that Cyber Command needed support in three main areas: providing support for combatant commanders executing their missions; strengthening the ability to withstand and respond to a strategic cyber attack; and defending DoD Information Networks (Defense Daily, May 4).

DISA is seeking support for both offensive and defensive cyber operations.

Under the RFP DISA planned to award a single task order to a qualified company under an unrestricted indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract and a task order for a small business set aside under a restricted IDIQ award.
