The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science & Technology (S&T) Directorate (S&T) in collaboration with the Technical Support Working Group has issued a Request for Information regarding a standoff laser or non-laser optical technique for the detection of trace quantities of explosives on vehicles. DHS hopes to identify candidate systems that would be invited to a government assessment of the state of the art in an outdoor environment.
