DHS Releases Guidance For $1.6 Billion In State And Local Grants

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday announced guidance for $1.6 billion in preparedness grants in FY ’14, with New York slated to receive the largest share of any state. The grants cover a number of programs, with the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) containing the largest pool, $587 million for regional preparedness and capabilities in the nation’s 39 highest risk, highest threat, and highest density urban areas.
