The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is soliciting from small businesses canines that can be used in teams across all of its components and directorates. DHS currently has over 2,000 canines and plans to significantly grow its canine workforce over the next five years. In addition, canines occasionally need to be replaced due to injury, disease, age or death. Acquisition of canines has previously been decentralized with each component conducting its own procurement. This contract will give DHS a single, department-wide contract that all components can use for canine purchases, making acquisitions easier and more time efficient. The components that expect to procure canines under this contract are Customs and Border Protection, Coast Guard, Federal Protective Service, Secret Service and Transportation Security Administration. The contract will be multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity. Sol. No. HSBP1010R0063. Respond by July 23. Contact: Hyun Koo, 202-344-3769, [email protected].
