The Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is seeking information on techniques and approaches for the detection of special nuclear material (SNM) at stand-off ranges greater than or equal to 5 kilometers. The goal of the Special Nuclear Materials at Standoff (SNMS) program is to detect and locate containerized SNM in outdoor environments.
