Lockheed Martin [LMT] has received a $30 million contract to modernize the Army's M299 launcher family. The modernized M299 will carry all variants of the Hellfire II and the Longbow Hellfire, as well as the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM), which is currently in competition between Lockheed Martin and a Raytheon [RTN]-Boeing [BA] team. The Oct. 14 issue of Defense Daily incorrectly reported that Raytheon was also awarded a contract for the M299 upgrades.
