TSA plans $6M Award to Jervis Webb for TSIF Work
The Transportation Security Administration plans to award a potential $6.1 million contract to Jervis B. Webb Company
to upgrade the TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF) Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) in order to replace and or modernize obsolete components that are reaching their end of life. The upgrade will bring the CBIS system into compliance with the latest version of TSA’s checked baggage planning guidelines and design standards, and extend the usable life of it for 10 years. TSA uses its TSIF to test and evaluate systems that are candidates for procurement, and to explore systems and concepts under development. The TSIF CBIS is often viewed as a showcase to the nation’s airports as it is capable of demonstrating the latest concepts, principles, and advances in CBIS methodology and technology. The PGDS ensures that compliance with baggage tracking algorithms, system reports, and operating concepts are implemented in any new baggage system.
