Telos Renews Contract with Philly Airport for Channeling Services

Telos Corp. [TLS] says that the city of Philadelphia has renewed its contract to continue providing Transportation Security Administration-approved Designated Channeling (DAC) Services for processing worker background checks at Philadelphia International Airport. The channeling services enable the airport to submit workers’ biographic and biometric data to conduct background checks for individuals working in secure areas of the airport. The renewal is good for three years. The airport uses the DAC by integrating with its identity management system. Telos says that its DAC services meet TSA and Department of Homeland Security requirements for handling personally identifiable information and biometrics, adding that the modular design of the DAC supports each airport’s and air carrier’s needs.

The contract is organized into two functional categories, managed testing services, and molecular diagnostic test kits and testing services.

Canadian Agency Awards Kongsberg Contract for Coast Guard UAV Trials

Kongsberg Geospatial says it has received a contract from Defence Research and Development Canada to provide its MIDAS sensor data management system to exploit data from the Martin Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) V-BAT during trials aboard Canadian Coast Guard vessels. Kongsberg Geospatial, part of Norway’s Kongsberg, says the MIDAS system allows a range of sensor data, including full-motion video from UAVs to be processes and exploited in near real-time by analysts aboard the ships. The V-BAT takes off and lands vertically and transitions to fixed-wing flight for long endurance while carrying multiple sensors. Kongsberg says that MIDAS can compare historical and live data in near real-time and can examine sensor data using motion and object detection. The system is packaged into a tactical and portable form factor for use on a ship or temporary command post.
