Integrated Biometrics Wins CBP’s Livescan Fingerprint Contract
Integrated Biometrics (IB) says it was won Customs and Border Protection’s competition to provide livescan fingerprint scanners to more than 5,000 workstations within the U.S. at air, land and seaports of entry. IB will provide its Kojak 10-fingerprint scanner to the agency.
Crossmatch was the incumbent for the livescan devices. The company says a majority of the scanners are already deployed at the nation’s busiest airports, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dulles, Los Angeles International and Miami and that thousands more will be installed at additional CBP facilities in the coming months. IB’s fingerprint scanners are deployed in more than 50 countries.
Milan Airports Acquires Smiths Detection EDS System
Smiths Detection has received an order from Malpensa and Linate Airports in Milan, Italy, for HI-SCAN 10080 XCT explosive detection system (EDS) scanners for screening checked bags at the European Civil Aviation Conference Standard 3.1. Detection algorithms on the machines are interchangeable on a bag-by-bag basis depending on the destination and associated risk level. The high-speed EDS systems can handle 1,800 bags per hour. The contract includes at least 13 HI-SCAN 10080 XCT systems and a maximum of 20, including redundant servers for network connection, up to 35 workstations, and a 10-year service agreement. The machines will be installed between July 2019 and September 2020.
USCIS Awards General Dynamics $15M for Document Production Services
General Dynamics [GD] Information Technology segment has received a $14.8 million contract from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for document production services for the agency’s customers. USCIS produces documents at two locations in Kentucky and Missouri. USCIS produces a variety of secure documents used to provide evidence of eligibility for immigration benefits.
North American Security Nabs $32M Award for Armed Guard Services in Memphis
The Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service has awarded North American Security a $32.4 million contract to provide armed guard services at an Internal Revenue Service facility in Memphis, Tenn. The award is a small business set aside.
