Australian Authority Awards Smiths Detection Contract for CT Systems Smiths Detection has received a contract from Australia’s Northern Territory Airports to supply computed tomography (CT)-based scanners for checkpoint and checked baggage security. The value of the award wasn’t disclosed. Smiths will install seven HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX units, which will be integrated with its iLane.evo automated tray return system, for scanning carry-on bags. The company will also install four HI-SCAN 10080 XCT units for automatic detection of explosives in checked bags.…
