JIDO Taps Booz Allen Hamilton for $326M IT Support Contract
Booz Allen Hamilton [BAH] won a potential $325.9 million contract from the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) to provide reliable and secure enterprise information technology (IT) operations globally in support of the agency. The task order enables rapid aggregation, fusion, and dissemination of operational information, intelligence, and technology to respond to emerging threats. It provides the DevOps-enabled path to production for JDO mission IT capabilities, leverages Defense Department and intelligence community enterprise services, and delivers IT capabilities in response to combatant commands, the intelligence community, military service partner organizations, and other DoD and federal agencies. The initial obligation is $2.7 million under the task order. DoD says that two offers were received for the work. The Government Services Administration’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center is the contracting activity.
Israel Awards Magal $9M for Border Security
Israel’s Magal Security Systems Ltd. [MAGS] has won a series of purchase orders worth over $8.5 million from the Israeli Ministry of Defence for the supply, integration and support of new innovative border and perimeter protection systems. “These recent orders reconfirm our position as world leader in smart fences and border technologies, with more than one thousand kilometers of borders worldwide equipped with our perimeter security technologies,” says Saar Koursh, Magal’s CEO. Magal didn’t specify what systems it will supply the MoD. The company’s Fortis4G platform is a physical security information management system. Magal also offers a portfolio of perimeter intrusion detection systems and advanced video management software.
HP Enterprise Nabs Potential $154M HSPD-12 Services Contract
The General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded Hewlett Packard Enterprise [HPE] a potential $154.1 million contract for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) Core Services, which will allow the agency to provide government-wide contractor managed services for identity and credential management services. The services include applicant sponsorship, enrollment, biometric submission for background investigation purposes, credential issuance, maintenance and management, and biographic and agency specific sponsorship record maintenance. HPE will provide services that minimize disruption to USAccess customer agencies and will maintain the full-life and functionality of currently existing, issued active PIV cards and credentials. The contract includes changes to the existing requirement to include that all equipment to be provided and maintained by the contractor as part of the service. The procurement also requires a technology refresh of credentialing equipment at designated points.
TSA Awards Morpho $46M for Medium Speed EDS
Safran Group’s Morpho Detection business has received a potential $46 million contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to provide CTX 9800 medium speed explosive detection systems to five airports around the U.S. The award was made using FY ’17 funds. Of the award amount, $33.5 million is for new EDS systems and ancillary parts. The remaining funds are for support services. The new EDS systems will replace ones that are beyond their useful life.
Engility Receives $35M DTRA Contract for Support
Engility [EGL] has received a $35.1 million contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide advisory and assistance services for the Operations, Readiness and Exercises Directorate and the Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate. Engility will provide dedicated expertise associated with CBRNE disciplines to achieve the necessary focus on the unique program requirements. The original synopsis said the that value of the contract or contracts would be about $490 million over five years. So far only Engility has received an award for the support.
TSA Awards Teracore $32M for IT Assistance
Teracore, Inc. has received a potential $31.5 million contract from the Transportation Security Administration to provide systems engineering and technical assistance to the Office of Information Technology Operations and Engineering Division. Teracore will serve as technical and operational oversight and advisory services for the IT infrastructure support contract within TSA’s portfolio to include ITIP Bridge, IMPACT, and Department of Homeland Security Data Center task orders. Task areas include quality assurance and oversight, technical and business operations support for cloud and as a service, business and management support, and technical oversight support for cloud, XaaService and data center migration activities.
Mercury Receives $4M for High-Resolution Imaging Application
Mercury Systems [MRCY] has it has received a $4.1 million follow-on order from a defense prime contractor for wideband millimeter wave transceivers for a homeland security high-resolution imaging application. “This follow-on order confirms Mercury’s leadership position in the design and commercialization of innovative millimeter wave solutions required for high-resolution imaging applications,” says Charlie Leader, vice president and general manager of Mercury’s Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Group. He says the miniaturized subsystems are “critical for the rapid identification of concealed threats in heavily trafficked secure environments.”
Coast Guard Awards Rockwell Collins $4M for Flight Control Systems Component
Rockwell Collins [COL] has received a $3.7 million contract from the Coast Guard for production of 140 automatic flight control system (AFCS) control panels for the service’s MH-65E short-range recovery helicopters. The panels are one step of a planned initiative for improving the reliability of the AFCS. Delivery of the panels is expected to begin in July with about three panels per month.
CBP Awards 360 ITIS Contract for Technology Service Desk Operations
Qbase says a joint venture that it is part of has been awarded the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) contract to provide Technology Service Desk operations supporting the agency’s employees and contractors, trade partners, and participating government agencies worldwide. The award was made to 360 IT Integrated Solutions (360 IT IS) joint venture, which also includes Geocent and the Newberry Group. The value of the award, made under the Department of Homeland Security EAGLE II contract, wasn’t disclosed. The award supports over 65,000 users.
DHS OBIM Awards NTT DATA $8M for Support
NTT DATA, Inc. has received an $8 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to provide independent system level testing support and quality assurance services. Under the multi-year contract NTT DATA will work with OBIM to sustain operations of its legacy system, called IDENT, while introducing agile methodologies designed to assist with implementation of the department’s new biometric database, the Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology system called HART. The company says it will provide verification and validation for information technology products and services for OBIM.
