The government consulting firm LMI on Thursday said it has acquired the consulting firm FourWinds Limited Company in a deal that expands its offerings to the intelligence community and nearly doubles the size of its team serving the intelligence community.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

LMI said that FourWinds has expertise in performance management, business analytics, and strategic communications, supplementing its existing intelligence program capabilities.

“We selected a company that fits our culture, particularly in intelligence programs at LMI,” Kellene Ecker, director of Intelligence Programs at LMI, said in a statement. “We have the same beliefs and mentality of public service and have a longstanding partnership with FourWinds. In the intel community we are like family. So this simply makes it a formal relationship.”

Mergers and acquisitions are part of LMI’s strategic plan to grow its business.

FourWinds’ management will remain with the company.

“The combination of FourWinds’ tailored solutions and accomplished staff, coupled with LMI’s infrastructure, broader reach, and capabilities, will no doubt strengthen the level of service to clients as we move forward together, Eduardo Caldera, co-founder of FourWinds, said in a statement.

LMI has nearly 1,000 consultants.
