Britain’s Chemring Group last week said that the private equity firm The Carlyle Group has expressed its interest in acquiring the company with a decision expected next month.
Chemring said it has received a highly preliminary expression of interest” from the United States-based investment company, adding that The Carlyle Group is required by September 14 to either announce an offer for it or say it does not intend to make an offer.
Chemring makes pyrotechnics, counter-improvised explosive device products, munitions, and military countermeasures for the military, aerospace and security markets.
