CATSA Selects Unisys for Airport Worker Biometric ID Contract

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) earlier this month selected Unisys [UIS] to supply, integrate and manage a new identification management system that ill use fingerprint and iris technology to verify the identities of workers at 29 airports throughout Canada. Under CATSA's Restricted Area Identification Card system, only airport workers with security clearances are permitted to enter restricted areas. The value of the award was not disclosed.
