Defense Secretary Ashton Carter on Thursday nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. James Holmes and Air Force Lt. Gen. John Raymond to a pair of key service positions.Holmes was nominated for promotion to general and for assignment as commander of Air Combat Command (ACC).
