The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch is soliciting research and development proposals under an Open Broad Agency Announcement that will remain open for four years. SOCOM Issues RFI for Technology Experimentation
U.S. Special Operations Command has issued a Request for Information to solicit technology experimentation candidates from research and development organizations, industry, and academia for inclusion in future experimentation events. The intent is to provide participants with the opportunity to gain Special Operations Forces insight and perspective on participant technologies. The theme of the technology experimentation is optics, long range facial recognition and identification, chemical attribution, neuroenhancement, military information support operations, and non-global positioning system based on position, navigation and timing technologies. Coast Guard Seeks Handheld Biometric Readers for TWIC Applications
The Coast Guard is soliciting for new handheld multimode biometric readers to replaces its currently fielded units, which have reached the end of their service life. The Coast Guard has a requirement to buy 250readkers, which will be used to verify that Transportation Worker Identification Credentials and Seafarer Identification Documents are valid and enable one-to-one biometric matches of the holder to the fingerprint template stored within the credential. The TWIC is a common identification credential for all personnel requiring unescorted access to secure areas of regulating port facilities and vessels, and all mariners holding Coast Guard issued credentials. The contract will have a one year base period and three one-year options. Half the readers will be acquired in the first year and the other half in the first option period.
