OSI Systems [OSIS] says its turnkey security screening services contract with Mexico expired on June 6. “While the customer has expressed its interest in entering into a new contract with the Company for the continuation of the program, there is no assurance that the Company will enter into any such new contract,” OSI says in a filing with the Securities Exchange Commission. The company’s turnkey services contracts have provided it with a steady stream of sales that help even out the lumpiness of product sales.

The Department of Homeland Security

has awarded WidePoint Integrated Solutions Corp. an interim bridge contract valued at up to $468,063 to continue providing cellular wireless managed services while a new acquisition strategy is developed to recompete the ordering vehicle for the services. The award has a one-year base period with a six-month option.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency plans to award a contract to New Light Technologies, LLC, to provide geospatial analysis and data management. FEMA says the company has served it since 2005 and has helped the agency with improved planning, coordination, collaboration, technical development, training, and standardization of systems, products and business procedures that use geospatial data throughout the agency.

FirstNet, the independent Commerce Department authority that is helping to ensure the deployment and operation of a nationwide broadband network for first responders, approved its first investments related to upgrading the network to the next-generation of wireless communication technology. The First Responder Network (FirstNet) Authority Board approved awarding two task orders worth $218 million to AT&T [T]. The first award is for expanding the fleet of deployables, such as satellite cell on light trucks and airborne assets with cellular networking capabilities, to enhance coverage and capacity for public safety during emergencies and events. The second award is for the first generational upgrades to enable 5G network capabilities, which the authority said would take multiple phases and begin with the network core.
