Thermo Fisher Scientific [TMO] has protested the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office’s potential $143 million award to Smiths Detection for Radioisotope Identification Devices. The protest was filed on Oct. 9 and is expected to be adjudicated by Jan. 19. If the protest is denies, Smiths Detection will provide its RadSeeker CS under the five-year contract.

Implant Sciences [IMSC] has promoted two of its senior executives to new positions. Todd Silvestri, formerly vice president of technology, has been named chief operating officer. Darryl Jones, formerly vice president of global sales and marketing, is now executive vice president, global sales, marketing, technical service and business development.
