Implant Sciences Corp. [IMSC] has sold additional units of its handheld Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 explosives trace detector to Rwanda and a Middle Eastern bank. The embassy of Rwanda in Washington, D.C. ordered H-150 units for deployment in Rwanda with the Rwandan Presidential Guard Unit. The sales were made through the company’s distributor, Security Detection, Inc. The bank in the Middle East is a new customer and ordered multiple units, Implant says.
The Transportation Security Administration has canceled a solicitation it issued last March for a Shoe Scanning Device. The agency tells TR2 that the solicitation “did not result in any viable systems that meet TSA’s technical or operational needs. The agency still plans to work with its partners in the Department of Homeland Security and industry to identify the best technologies and solutions for the security checkpoint, TSA says.
