Israel’s Bental Industries recently said it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Germany’s 3W International to integrate Bental’s G032 Starter Generator on 3W’s 157ccm unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engines.
“With this agreement, Bental and 3W are combining forces to present a unified solution able to enhance UAV performance parameters by creating a power package which is both more capable and more economical,” Michael Armon, Bental’s vice president for marketing and sales, said. “We believe that the resulting product, will lead to increased sales for both companies worldwide.”
The companies are presenting the system at the upcoming Paris Air Show and will market the new turnkey power pack solutions jointly.
Bental has successfully integrated its Starter Generators with 3W engines in the past.
The G032 Starter Generator is part of the Bental’s newest line of unified starter generators. These generators first start the UAV’s main motor then provide power to the rest of the systems that require a power source including the battery.
By combining these commonly disparate functions into a single unified system, substantial weight and volume reductions are achieved while the platform’s endurance and ground operator’s safety and ease of operation are increased, Bental added.
