BAE Systems has introduced a new analysis-on-demand service for corporate customers to help them monitor open source and social media feeds for “malicious or inadvertent leaks of sensitive information” and other potential threats, the United Kingdom-based company said on Jan. 5.
The new security service is aimed at alerting companies to current and potential threats.
“Many businesses have hardened their infrastructure against network intrusions but have yet to achieve advance warning of these attacks, or a complete understanding of who is behind them,” said Peder Jungck, vice president and chief technology officer of BAE’s Intelligence & Security Sector. “Our analysts seamlessly fuse data from an abundance of streams and sources into clear and actionable reports that help corporate security teams protect their most valuable assets, whether they are foreign, domestic, or virtual.”
In addition to scouring for information leaks, BAE said its new Corporate Security Analysis will also detect potential insider threats, social engineering attempts, smear campaigns, and other issues of concern.” The service can also be used to “gauge a local population’s sentiment and gain a broader understanding of the geopolitical environments in which they operate.”
The new service is provided through the company’s Advanced Analytics Lab in Northern Virginia.
