As Army Eyes Cuts, HAC-D Backs JLTV, Gray Eagle In FY ‘26 Defense Spending Bill

House defense appropriators’ fiscal year 2026 spending bill includes funding for several programs the Army has targeted for planned cuts, including Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) and Gray Eagle drones.  The draft $831.5 billion defense spending bill unveiled on Monday also supports continuing the Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP), while the Army has considered potentially halting development of the GE Aerospace [GE] T901 next-generation helicopter engine.  The House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee (HAC-D) is set to hold a closed door markup…
