Army Network Integration Evaluation Aims To Empower Soldiers, Gain Overmatch, Officials Say

The Army is testing software and hardware in the West Texas desert during Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) 12.2 aiming to give soldiers a tactical network--and an edge, officials said. The NIE is a semiannual evaluation of laboratory-vetted equipment, software and integration activities led by a triumvirate of Army testers, acquisition and training and doctrine personnel.
