Army Exploring Potential Replacement For Airbus’ UH-72A As Main Training Helicopter

The Army is seeking industry’s input to inform its future approach to initial rotary-wing flight training, to include potentially exploring a replacement for Airbus Helicopters’ UH-72A Lakota as its primary training helicopter. A new Request for Information (RFI) notice from the Army Aviation Center of Excellence notice published on Tuesday details an intent “to transform” Initial Entry Rotary-Wing (IERW) Flight Training at Fort Novosel, Alabama with an aim to “reduce costs, gain efficiencies and maintain or increase aviation training quality.”…
