The Commandant of the Marine Corps this week said while the Navy is trying to get its ships into maintenance availability on time and out to sea on time, part of the problem is combatant commanders extending ship groups with too few operational ships. “The Navy is attempting to get the ships in and out on time, but right now that's not happening.
