Air Force Working To Create CHIRP Data Archive, Retrieval System

The Air Force is developing an archival and retrieval system so that declassified data collected by the service’s Commercially Hosted Infrared Payload (CHIRP) may be provided to contractors and researchers to develop new user applications. An Air Force Infrared Space Systems Directorate spokesperson said in a recent email that all CHIRP data to date has been archived and will be made available to any government or contractor agencies with the required security clearances.
