TSA Deploys COBRA at BWI

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) last week began piloting Analogic's [ALOG] COBRA automated-explosive detection system (EDS) at a checkpoint serving Southwest Airlines at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport. In August TSA began piloting a COBRA system at Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport. Unlike with the X-Ray Advanced Technology machines that TSA is buying for widespread deployment at airport checkpoints, in the Auto-EDS pilots passengers do not have to remove laptop computers from their cases nor do they have to divest their…
