SAS on Tuesday said it has acquired Willbrook Solutions, Inc., a small company with expertise in ground and space-based missile defense, the first deal by SAS since partnering recently with the private equity firm Godspeed Capital to create a new platform company focused on new space, hypersonics, and missile defense technology and solutions.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Willbrook, which is based in Huntsville, Ala., has 75 cleared employees who support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Missile and Space Intelligence Center, NASA, the Defense Department, and commercial customers. The company also has capabilities in offensive and defensive missile systems analysis, modeling and simulation, and data analysis.

SAS said the deal expands its customer base and capabilities in missile defense, counter-hypersonics, intelligence, ground-based space and surveillance radar systems, research and development, and analytics and telemetry.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the talented and experienced team at Willbrook and look forward to leveraging their strategic relationships and capabilities in the missile defense market and community to add significant depth and breadth to the SAS platform and portfolio,” Heather Bulk, CEO of SAS, said in a statement. “We look forward to working closely with Willbrook’s senior leadership team to further expand our relationship with the MDA and other key customers.”

Following the acquisition, Colorado-based SAS has about 325 cleared employees.
