Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) May 8 said it received a contract valued at up to $46.5 million for spares and services supporting the Thor III and Baldr dismounted Counter Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems.

sierra_nevada_corp._logo“SNC is proud that our fielded CREW systems have played a major role in countering the effects of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIED) aiding our military men and women who are on the front lines,” said Paul Plemmons, corporate vice president of Electronic Warfare and Range Instrumentation (EWR) at SNC. “We look forward to sustaining these vital CREW capabilities for as long as they are required by our U.S. soldiers.”

SNC continues to lead the industry in the development of advanced low size, weight and power (SWaP) ground electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems. SNC’s EWR team is working to develop the next generation of multi-functional electronic warfare (MFEW) systems for military forces.

Work on the contract, issued by Army Contracting Command, will be based at SNC in Folsom, Calif., and performed at multiple U.S. locations.
