Sagem Securite, a division of France's SAFRAN Group, said it has received orders to supply iris recognition identification systems to Oman and Jordan to be used for ID checks at borders. Sagem says the systems will be deployed at more than 100 sites, primarily border crossing stations and airports. The company says it is the first to be selected in the Persian Gulf area to supply identification systems based on iris recognition technology.
